RULES

Full Navigation

Respect the players in the game and out.
Respect between all players is required in any game. Please ensure that you treat each player with respect in mind, both with regards to player-to-player interaction as well as the in-game consequences of character decisions.

This also goes for the game mechanics; if we find you've cheated or attempted to by-pass them, we will either issue a strike, or ban you, depending on severity. Basically, please don't try and cheat.

Talk to the mods if you have any concerns.
We're here for you and have a list of ways to contact us, including if you ever need to ping us individually.

In that vein, if you try to stir wank (complaining about the mods/a game event does not equal leaking personal information/telling people to kill themselves/etc. Use your best judgment.) instead of coming to us with your issues, we will issue a strike against you (see warning system below). It's fine if you need to show us chatlogs you had with a problem player or even evidence from someone's private spaces, but only if the issue is problematic enough to warrant it. We will take evidence as evidence and keep things private, but we will not police other people's plurks/private spaces or take every nitpick they have against the game as a personal offense.

Remember that while the mods are also your fellow players and would love for nothing more than to keep everyone happy and comfortable in the game, we also will not tolerate rule-breaking, and take it seriously.

Keep all lines of communication open.
While the game's general rating is pg-13, we expect players to keep others informed about their likes, dislikes, and fourth-wall preferences, if applicable. While we fully expect to see Pokemon Protags in the game, please keep in mind that just because X character was always winning/losing in their canon, doesn't mean it'll be true here, and we expect all players to discuss outcomes of PC-vs-PC pokebattles.

While characters are RNG'd into housing assignments, we will genuinely try to avoid putting players with others they do not get along with, provided it's brought to us. What we won't do is shift characters around because two characters do not get along.

Keep your characters in-character.
We understand that character growth is going to occur in any game, yet we also require you to understand your character's thought processes and their decisions so that you can back them up with canon facts if need be.

In that vien, IC =/= OOC, and certain characters may behave in a way that is contrary to the player handling the character. Again, we expect all lines of communication to be open so that no misunderstandings happen. Also, players with such characters are again asked to respect their fellow players and to indicate that it is all part of gameplay, including opt-out posts if needed.

Godmodding and infomodding
These are in no shape way or form permitted in the game except with visible prior permission from the affected player/s. Goodmodding can be controlling another's character, for example X saving Y completely from danger, when Y's player wanted Y to handle the danger. A more passive form is one that disallows the other player from reacting to your character's actions. Such as C punched B's teeth out, instead of C attempted to punch B's teeth out.

Again, please be considerate of other players. Unless permission is given, do not godmod.

Infomodding is using information not available to one's character through in-character means. For example, Will Turner doesn't know that Elizabeth Swann killed Jack Sparrow. Thus, the player of Will Turner must keep it as such, unless there has been an agreement between the two players for the two characters to have shared this information in-game. It can also be your character knowing IC or OOC information they'd have no way in knowing.

Keep your character/s active.
Activity checks will be held once in a month, and we expect all players to satisfy it. To reiterate them, they are
  1. Two posts + five of your comments in a separate thread
  2. One post + ten of your comments in separate thread
  3. Threads from three or more different people to total 30 comments from you.
Posts can be any combination of Logs and Network, and must have at least one reply from you on each. We do not accept IC inbox threads as proof of activity, and we will notice if you continuously scrape by with AC, and class that as character squatting.

Character-squatting
Having a character in-game but inactive isn't allowed. It's inconsiderate to those who may want to app said character or to other players whose characters have close interactions with the character who is inactive. However, the mods do understand that life happens, so again we ask for some courtesy by asking players to direct their hiatuses to the hiatus page.

There is a five character cap per player, period.
We'll allow for players to play up to two from the same series/franchise, provided they are not closely related. While we understand that some players can handle more than five, we feel five characters, all active within the game, is enough for players in the game.

Warning System/Bans
A first player-reported or mod-observed offense will merit one warning/strike, during which the player will be put under probation. The player's actions in-game and out of the game will be watched by the mods and evaluated as necessary.

A second warning/strike on the same offense will merit a two-week suspension from the game.

A third warning/strike on the same offense will result in expulsion from the game, and further applications from the player will be denied.

Two warnings/strikes on different offenses will merit a probation, but one additional warning/strike on a new or the same offense will result in a suspension. One more additional warning/strike or a third separate offense will result in expulsion from the game.

We reserve the right to preemptively ban a player from the game if significant information on why they are problematic has been brought forth to us. While we are willing to give the benefit of the doubt, we strive for our playerbase's safety and comfort.
